'A' Level Results 2016
Arden celebrates another year with outstanding A Level results….
The class of 2016 some 170 students (the highest number on record at Arden) have performed incredibly well in their A Level examinations.
We are all very aware that the bar has once again been raised nationally which undoubtedly made life much more difficult for this year group - we are delighted to report a pass rate of 99.6% with well over half of our students gaining the prestigious A*-B grades.
With over 80% of all grades being above grade C we are very proud of the achievements of every single one of our students who will now move on to the next exciting challenge that awaits them, be that at University or in employment.
With all students doing so well it is hard to single out special praise but we wanted to specifically congratulate MARY KEAST with her 4 A* grades who is on her way to Cardiff University to study medicine and DAN DAVIES with his three top grades is off to Cambridge to study Natural Sciences

There were many individual successes and the following students all achieved the equivalent of 3 A* or A grades or better Mary Keast, Ben Jones, Jacob Lamb, William Taylor, Dan Davies, Phil Chadwick, Fran Carroll, Lucy Blewer, Oliver Cottom, Catherine Edwards and Beth Walters.

Ben Jones on his way to Exeter to study Maths
Will Taylor off to study Physics at Nottingham
This year’s students were a credit to the school, themselves and their parents. They were a very special year group indeed who worked incredibly hard in difficult circumstances linked to the changing A level climate within significant educational change. Over a third of the students joined the sixth from other schools reflecting the increasing popularity of the Arden Sixth Form in the local region. They have been wonderful ambassadors in every sense not only performing superbly in the academic arena but in the help and support they gave to younger students through mentoring, the fundraising they accomplished and the relationships they built with all members of the local community.
I know I speak for all the teaching staff and support staff at Arden who enjoyed working with them so much, the Governors who have watched with interest the progress of this year group in these changing and challenging educational times in wishing every single one of them a most happy and successful future. We are incredibly proud of every single one of them.
