A Tribute to Mr Tommy Godwin

It is with great sadness that the Arden family has learned of the death of Mr Tommy Godwin this weekend. Mr Godwin, who won two bronze medals for cycling in the 1948 London Olympic games, was a popular guest during Arden's Olympic season and Sports Gala Dinner earlier this year. He was hugely enthusiastic about the 2012 Olympics and was incredibly proud to have been chosen as an Olympic torch bearer. Mr Murphy commented 'We were honoured that Mr Godwin was able to participate in our Olympic season. He was a delightful gentleman and it was a privilege to meet him, he was an inspiration to all he met - pupils and staff alike. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
