Mr Murphy was keen to celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions made by three Year 10 pupils. Each of them was presented with a 'Principal's Award' certificate.
James Gavigan has competed in many athletic competitions and is beginning to get a reputation as one of the countries top athletes in his age group. He came first in the regional round for Pentathlon, first in England Championships for Octathalon and is currently ranked 11th in the UK for Decathlon. However his coaches have high hopes that he will be ranked in the top six in the UK when he competes in the National Schools competition being held on 16, 17 & 18 September.
Emily Godsall has had a successful summer being chosen as part of the U15 West Midlands squad for Basketball as well as being chosen for England trials. This is a great achievement. Well done Emily.
Ophelia Neville received a letter of commendation, recognising her superb sports leadership qualities which were in evidence when she volunteered to spend two weeks of her summer holiday with 'allactivesports'. The letter was full of praise for her enthusiasm and hard work.
