Arden Awards Evening
The many achievements of Arden's former Year 11 and Year 13 students were celebrated in superb style on Friday 28 November. The night reflected the many academic and personal achievements of the 'Class of 2014', witnessed by an audience of proud parents, staff and important guests including Mr Andy Street, Managing Director of John Lewis Partnership whom we were very proud to welcome as Guest Speaker for the evening. We were also privileged to have several local Councillors and representatives from local societies present.
There were many musical performances throughout the evening: Ardenaires, Senior Wind Band, the Chamber Choir, Four on the Floor and B.A.T.S. For many though the highlight was Arden Sixth Form student Danielle Rose's version of the John Lewis Christmas advertisement soundtrack ‘Real Love' which was much appreciated by Mr Street.
Among the many award winners was Cameron Scriven who won the prestigious Governors' Cup for his commitment and contribution not only to life at Arden but within the wider community. 2014 saw the inaugural ˜Derek Smart Arts Award' in honour of Arden's former Chair of Governors who passed away earlier this year. The award was presented by Mrs Ann Smart to two former Arden Sixth Form students Isabelle James and Thomas Briggs.
