Arden celebrates another SUPERB set of A Level results
The class of 2014 has performed incredibly well in their A Level examinations.
Once again the bar has been raised nationally and despite the removal of the January module examinations which undoubtedly made life much more difficult for this first year group because they were unable to reap the benefit of re-sit examinations as their predecessors have done.
So, it is with great pride that we report a pass rate of 99.2% with nearly two thirds of our students gaining the prestigious A*-B grades. The average point score for students at 841 is a record for Arden. With over 86% of all grades being above grade C we are so proud of the achievements of every single one of our students who will now move on to the next exciting challenge that awaits them, be that at University or in employment.
With all students doing so well it is hard to single out special praise but we wanted to specifically congratulate Maddie Parkin who is on her way to the University of Cambridge to study Modern Languages and Chris Cottell who is going to be reading Music at the University of Oxford. We have students going off to Medical School (Adam Bennett, Sam Craven and Chloe Reynolds) and Katie Winstone is looking forward to her course in Veterinary Medicine at The University of Liverpool.
There were many individual successes; the following students all achieved the equivalent of 3 A grades or better.
Adam Bennett, Tom Biddle, Michael Bolton, Kieran Brown, Chris Bull, Patrick Butler, Antonio Cantone, James Charnley, Chris Cottell, Sam Craven, Mollie Delaney, Siân Fedeski, Alice Flannery, Beth Guck, Luke Hannon, Josh Hull, Lizzie Jackson, Ben Morris, Will Norris, Lizzie Orr, Maddie Parkin, Andrew Penny, Alix Reynolds, Chloe Reynolds, Hannah Robbins, Harry Robinson, Matthew Seaton, Katie Winstone, James Yates
This year's students were a credit to the school, themselves and their parents. They were a marvelous year group in every sense not only performing superbly in the academic arena but in the help and support they gave to younger students through mentoring, the fundraising they accomplished and the relationships they built with all members of the local community.
I know I speak for all the teaching staff here at Arden who enjoyed working with them so much, the Governors who have watched with interest the progress of this year group in these changing educational times and the support staff who have always had such special relationships with our Sixth Form students in wishing every single one of them a most happy and successful future.
We are incredibly proud of every single one of them.
