Arden's Digital Leaders
Arden's Digital Leaders help to develop Global ICT reward scheme
On 17 January, six of our Year 9 Digital Leaders went with Digital Leaders from John Henry Newman Catholic College to Mozilla HQ in London to take part in a workshop developing Open Badges for Digital Leaders. Open Badges will be a global reward system to recognise a wide range of skills, particularly with ICT. Students were involved in developing badges to be part of the scheme and some of them were asked to test some new software for the scheme that is currently in development by Mozilla. This was an exciting opportunity for both the staff and students involved and you can read about it here: http://www.digitalleadernetwork.co.uk/?p=1547
Two of our students are featured on the video of the Mozilla Open Badge event which can be accessed by clicking on the link below:

The ten Year 9 students who were selected before Christmas to become Arden's Digital Leaders are also currently involved in quadblogging with schools in America. Through quadblogging.net Arden has been put in a group of four schools who will view each other's blogs and start discussions about the learning that is happening across the world during January, February and March this year. The blogs are about various topics and while the other schools blogs are mostly subject based, ours is about the work that the Digital Leaders are doing.
You can also join in here: digitalleadersarden.blogspot.co.uk Where there are also links to the three American schools
