Fantastic A Level Results
We are once again delighted to report a year on year progression with 'A' level results. For the second consecutive year we are thrilled to see a 100% pass rate across all 27 subjects. On every single measure the results are an improvement on the already outstanding results of 2012. The percentage of grades at A/A* has risen to 37% and an incredible 90% of students secured A*- C. This is a great day for Arden.
I must thank all my colleagues for all their hard work and we congratulate our students and celebrate their achievements with their parents who will be so very proud. The highest numbers of our students ever, are now moving on to their first choice universities. We are very proud of all of our students for working so hard over the past two years.
Students who chose to apply for Medicine or Dentistry have been successful in securing university places to study in their chosen field. Those students are: Marianna Nicholson, Jonathan Gough, Raajun Sidhu, Tanvier Sidhu and William Sutherland.
We also celebrate the success of Harry Gray, Thomas Hornigold and Alexander Rennison who have all met the required criteria to study at Oxbridge.
There are many, many other successes and every student in this marvellous year group deserves our heartfelt congratulations. Our Year 12 students have also done really well and we look forward to their success in 2014. I must mention some fantastic individual success at A Level. All of the following students have achieved at least 3 A* or A grades:
Chloe Beddoes; Rachael Biggs; Cameron Campbell; Hannah Elliott; Rachel Fraser; Jonathan Gough; Harry Gray; Richard Hancock; Christopher Hann; Thomas Hornigold; Emma James; Thomas King; Caitlin Malin; Marianna Nicholson; Thomas Owen; Elinor Penny; Alexander Rennison; Ruth Sharma; Raajun Sidhu; Tanvier Sidhu; James Smith; Bradley Stonehewer; William Sutherland; Daniella Warner; Katherine Wood; Joseph Wykes; Emily Beech; Edward Halliwell-Ewen; Jack Penter; Luke Roberts; and Stephanie Young.
This Year 13 cohort was Arden's largest ever, reflecting the Sixth Form's increasing popularity due to it's outstanding teaching and learning and the opportunities for individual progress available to our students.
What we must also celebrate is the incredible support and work our students have done to support learning, coaching in sport, music and drama across the school in their time with us. Their impact has been simply exceptional - all our Year 13 students are outstanding ambassadors - really well done and thank you. All the staff and Governors at Arden wish every one of them all the very best for the future.
