Young Hero Award for Arden pupil
Congratulations to William Maidment in Year 7 who has just been awarded the Knowle and Dorridge Round Table Young Hero Award (under 12). The award was for sleeping rough to raise money for Birmingham City Mission. William was very keen to experience something outside his comfort zone and also volunteered his father to take part!
William raised over £450 for spending one night in February in a cardboard box - the temperature was -2C. For his award from the Round Table, he received an additional £200 for the charity, which he presented to the charity at a church in central Birmingham. The monies that he raised will be put towards Christmas presents and dinner for those in need.
