ARDEN Academy:

preparing you for a world of opportunity

Pastoral Care and Guidance

At Arden Academy, we believe that outstanding academic achievement is underpinned by exceptional pastoral care. Our ethos centres on fostering a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to flourish both academically and personally.

We are dedicated to creating a community where every student feels valued, safe, and empowered. Our pastoral care is designed to support students' well-being, promote resilience, and encourage a sense of belonging. We believe that by nurturing the whole person, we enable our students to achieve their full potential.

  • We provide support to meet the unique needs of each student, helping them to navigate academic and personal challenges.
  • Our approach promotes the development of social, emotional, and ethical skills alongside academic excellence.
  • We strive to cultivate a strong sense of community where mutual respect, kindness, and empathy are the foundations of our interactions.
  • By fostering resilience and prioritising well-being, we prepare our students to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our dedicated pastoral team is committed to ensuring that every student receives the care and support they need. We invite you to get to know the key staff members who lead our pastoral care efforts:

Form Tutors - offer daily support and guidance to students, fostering strong, trust-based relationships.

Heads of Year - who oversee each a year group and have strategic overview, they ensure that each student can help resolve or remove any barriers to attendance, behaviour or progress.

Directors of Pastoral Care – Oversee Key stage 3 (years 7,8,9) and Key stage 4 (years 10,11). They have responsibility to lead Heads of Year with their strategic oversight of their year groups

Pastoral Support Team

Effective communication is at the heart of our pastoral care approach. We believe that open, honest, and timely communication between students, parents, and staff is crucial for building trust and ensuring the best outcomes for our students. We ask parents to communicate with us at the earliest opportunity if there are concerns or worry.

At Arden Academy, we understand that excellent pastoral care is integral to our students' success and well-being.

Supporting Students at School with Medical Conditions

At Arden we have a policy called ‘Supporting Students At School with Medical Conditions’ and this is available to view on the school website.  This policy ensures that, as a school, we work in line with the recommendations of the Department for Education and Solihull Local Authority.
