Three of our Year 11 students, Olivia Boam, Amelia Shore-Nye and Gabbi Cucchiara, have been successful with their applications to attend a week-long summer course in Italian at Selywn College, Cambridge University. They will study Italian as well as Arts and Humanities in this prestigious university alongside other gifted linguists.
Over the summer two of our Year 12 students, Laura Walsh and Matthew Clarke, are undertaking a week long work experience placement in the town hall of Roquefort de Corbieres.
Our Year 13 students took part in a Languages and Journalism Day led by ‘Business Languages Champions’. Our French students took joint 1st place and the German students were 2nd.
Two of our Year 12 students took part in a ‘Young Translators’ competition for students throughout the European Union. Although they didn’t win, they did receive T-shirts for their efforts.
