Sports Gala Dinner 2017
Arden's 2017 Sports Gala is a celebration of the achievements and successes of our sporting students. The evening recognises those who have excelled within Arden, at County level and National level in all sports ranging from athletics, dragon boat racing, water polo, gymnastics, boxing, swimming, tennis and football, to name but a few. Not only this but we recognise the hard work and dedication of our Sports Leaders and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award winners. Our guest speaker was Dr. Sara Treacy, Sara is an Irish runner who competes primarily in the 3000m steeplechase. She represented Ireland at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing and she competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Sara, who hails from Co. Meath in Ireland, studied medicine at Birmingham University and currently juggles training with her work as a doctor in Worcester Hospital. Kay Jones, once again, attended and kindly sponsored her father Tommy Godwin's Sporting Dedication Award and Bill Bohanna, Governor, kindly sponsored the Coach of the Year, Unsung Hero, Excellence in Sport and Sports Personality of the Year Award. This year's Sports Personality of the Year is Ashleigh Bailey
