BEST EVER GCSE RESULTS
BEST EVER GCSE RESULTS
Following on from last week's fantastic A-level results, we are delighted to announce this year's GCSE success which is the best in the history of the school. For the seventh consecutive year, 100% of our pupils achieved 5 A*-C grades. Of these over 94% achieved the gold standard of 5 A*- C including English and Mathematics. We are particularly pleased that we have achieved such truly impressive results when the bar is being significantly raised nationally and the exam system has changed.
Congratulations to every student in the Class of 2013 your parents should be very proud of your achievements. We have seen breathtaking performance in all areas of GCSE and the vocational examination subjects and this has been down to the hard work and determination of our utterly fantastic students.
Our students continue to excel at the top grades of A* and A with almost a quarter of our students achieving these grades in 8 or more of their subjects. There have also been many individual success stories however we must celebrate the achievements of our twins Emma and Laura Kelly who gained 19 A*/A's and 3 B's between them - truly stunning.
The following students gained at least 10 A* or A grades: Lucy Bailey, Amy Bowen, Daniel Brookson, Katie Craddock, Laurie Cromwell, Freya Driver, James Gavigan, Emma Hicken, Daniel Hughes, Emma Kelly, Grace Leach, Molly Maurice-Smith, George Oakes, Katherine Perkins, Charlotte Perry, Alex Richard, Martha Rowe, Madeline Saunders, Elise Smith, Victoria Steele, Hannah Stephens, Amrita Thind, Harris Tooke, Laura Ventrella, Laura Wheatley, Georgina Wheeler and Joseph Woodbridge. However, the most outstanding results were achieved by Emily Mitic, Rebecca Mladenovic and Emma Smith who gained A* in all of their 11 GCSE subjects. Once again congratulations on your remarkable achievements.
I must also thank all my colleagues who are an outstanding team of staff who guided, coached and inspired our students through five years of learning. Without their professional expertise, stamina and endless patience these results would not have been achieved.
We are also looking forward to welcoming and celebrating their fantastic success over the next two days as they enroll with students from other schools in the area into our Sixth Form. We are anticipating the highest intake in the history of Arden.
The Class of 2013 is a delightful group of young people and their achievements are well deserved. Their impact across Arden has been exceptional - all are outstanding Arden Ambassadors - really well done and thank you. We wish every one of them all the very best for the future and every success in their lives ahead.
