Congratulations to Year 11 on their FANTASTIC GCSE results
Following on from last week's SUPERB A-level results, we are delighted to announce this year's GCSE success. Once again almost 100% of our pupils achieved 5 A*- C grades. Of these over 85% achieved the gold standard of 5 A*- C including English and Mathematics. The students have reached their challenging targets and we are particularly pleased that we have achieved such truly impressive results when the bar is being significantly raised nationally and the exam system has changed.
Congratulations to every student in the Class of 2014 your parents should be very proud of your achievements. We have seen breathtaking performance in all areas of GCSE and the vocational examination subjects and this has been down to the hard work and determination of our fantastic students.
Our students continue to excel at the top grades of A* and A. This has increased this year with almost a third of our students achieving these grades in 8 or more of their subjects.
There have also been many individual success stories. The following students gained at least 10 A* or A grades: Amy Allen, Selina Chan, Charlie Corden, William Cutbill, Cara Douglas, Catherine Edwards, Lauren Hockley, William Howell, Benjamin Jones, Emilia Kudanowska, Jacob Lamb, Mark Lumb, Harveen Marwaha, Conor McGoldrick, Natalia Nicholson, Ben Northam, Sarah Parker, Sophie Peasley, William Penny, Scott Pinwell, Danielle Rose, Eleanor Royle, Martha Sanders, Joseph Savage, Rebecca Scott, Cameron Scriven, William Stride, Chloe Thomas, Harry Thompstone, Eleanor Tomkins, Kyle Turner, Kate Verduyn and Alison Wilcock.
However, the most outstanding results were achieved by Mary Keast who gained A* in every one of her 11 GCSE subjects.
I must also thank all my colleagues who are an outstanding team of staff who guided, coached and inspired our students through five years of learning. Without their professional expertise, stamina and endless patience these results would not have been achieved.
We are also looking forward to welcoming and celebrating their fantastic success over the next two days as they enroll with students from other schools in the area into our Sixth Form. We are anticipating the highest intake in the history of Arden.
The Class of 2014 are a delightful group of young people and their achievements are well deserved. Their impact across Arden has been exceptional - all are outstanding Arden Ambassadors - really well done and thank you. We wish every one of them all the very best for the future and every success in their lives ahead.
